Open Nominations for 2020

Since 2012, the Florida Civil Rights Hall of Fame has commemorated individuals who have made significant contributions and provided leadership toward Florida’s progress and achievements in human and civil rights. Each year, the Florida Commission on Human Relations, as administrator of the Hall of Fame, asks that you nominate a deserving individual whose trail-blazing efforts served to educate and empower our next generation of civil rights leaders.

The Florida Civil Rights Hall of Fame display is located on the Plaza Level in the rotunda (southeast corner) of the Florida Capitol building. For each of the inductees, a plaque with a photograph and biographical summary hangs in tribute to these honored individuals.

The Florida Commission on Human Relations will accept all nominations for the 2020 Florida Civil Rights Hall of Fame postmarked by November 11, 2019. The Commission will recommend 10 outstanding individuals to the Governor, from whom the Governor will select up to three to be inducted. Inductees will be recognized at a special ceremony in 2020.

If you have questions or need additional information, please call the Florida Commission on Human Relations at 850-488-7082.
